Business was booming at The Saxophone Shop until the stock market crash of 1929 brought the Roaring '20's to a grinding halt. In order to keep his business alive during the Great Depression, Christiansen expanded The Saxophone Shop into a full service store that carried a wide variety of musical instruments. The name of Christiansen's remodeled store was changed to Portland Music Company. |
