The MacDowell Colony
The MacDowell Colony, founded in 1907, is the oldest artists\' colony in
the United States. It was awarded the National Medal of Arts from President
Clinton in 1997 for nurturing some of the century\'s finest artists.
Colony awards residencies to composers, filmmakers, visual artists,
interdisciplinary writers, and architects., MacDowell nurtures arts by offering creative individuals highest talent an inpsiring environment in which they can produce
enduring works imagination.
